ABOUT THE AUTHOR

The best stories
find you when you
least
expect them.

Jennifer Maddie is a New Englander at heart who has loved writing since middle school and always dreamed of writing a children's book.

That dream finally came true after a visit to Pune, India, where on a warm, sunny morning she noticed a gentle cow and a spirited little egret spending their days side by side, quietly keeping each other company in the most unexpected friendship. That moment eventually became Bindi and Raj: Under the Same Sky.

Jennifer lives in the woods of New Hampshire with her husband and four
rescue dogs. When she isn't writing, she helps leaders grow with heart.

BEHIND THE STORY

A white cow.
A bold little egret.
And one warm
morning.

This story began on a warm morning in Pune, India while I was on a
business trip. Outside our office, a white cow relaxed quietly in a small field while a bold little egret stood nearby, as if they'd planned it that way.

Every day during our trip, they showed up side by side.

Different. Perfectly mismatched. Completely inseparable.

A reminder that connection doesn't require sameness — and that
sometimes the best friendships are the ones we never expect.
